I am originally from Huntsville, AL and hold a Master's in Gifted and Talented Education, a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education and Language Arts as well as a Middle Grades Certificate specific for instruction in Reading and Language Arts (this shows just how long I have taught- universities don't offer this last endorsement anymore!!!) . I have been a Gifted and Talented Educator for 20 plus years, and I truly love working to inspire young minds. I have one daughter, Clarissa, who just graduated with her Masters of Science in Speech / Language Pathology from the University of South Alabama -Go Jags! Most of my incredible family live right here in the Huntsville and Madison area. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, yoga, taking long walks, the beach, reading, playing chess, cooking, word games, traveling, and spoiling my Mom's incredibly intelligent Jack- Rat terrier (Sister), my sister's Manchester terrier/ Italian Greyhound mix (Zoey), and the newest addition to the pet part of the Pauli family (Shulo), my daughter's kitten. My GATE students all respect my need for coffee and do everything in their power to make sure lost coffee mugs are found again. This year I learned more about how coffee is grown, harvested, and roasted from one of my very clever 5th grade GATE students - Campbell. Check out her Passion Project on Coffee as well as some of the other fabulous projects presented this year.
